Champakulam Boat Race:- Champakulam Boat Race is celebrated on 4th July. 2020 Celebration date still to be confirmed. It is an oldest Snake Boat Race held in God’s Own Country Kerala State, India. 

Boat Race is done in Pampa River in Champakulam, a village in Alappuzha District. Racing Snake Shaped Boats are well decorated colorfully, boat race followed with traditional songs and music. Massive people are gathered here on the occasion to enjoy the colorful and spirit of the race.

Guru Purnima (Vyasa Purnima) :- Guru Purnima is celebrated on 5th July 2020. Birthday of Ved Vyasa, author of Mahabharatham is considered as Guru Purnima. 

The word “Guru” in Sanskrit is “dispeller of darkness”, meaning Teacher. This festival is literally celebrated to honor all the teachers (Guru). Students pay respect by gifting sweets, clothes, and coconut. These gifts to be called Gurudhakshina to their teacher and receive their blessings.

Dree Festival:- Dree Festival is celebrated on 5th July 2020. This is an agricultural festival celebrated by the Apatani Tribe in Arunachal Pradesh, India. People pray to God for bountiful harvest pest-free crops and for good rain. 


They offer animal sacrifices to their deities Tamu, Metis, Danyi, and Harniang, these all performed in the paddy itself. Women perform cultural dances in colorful traditional attire and sing traditional songs. In these three days of festival people engaged in games and sports.  During the festival cucumbers are distributed to the participants, it considers as sacred and prosperous harvest.

Guru Hargobind Jayanthi:-Sri Guru Hargobind Jayanti is celebrated on 5th July. Guru Hargobind Sahib is revered as the 6th Nanak. He was the sixth of the ten Sikh Gurus. His birthday celebrated by the Sikhs across the world. He was born in Patna, Bihar, and died in Himachal Pradesh.

He became a guru in his 11th age as his father Guru Arjun was executed by Mughal Emperor Jahangir. He created a strong Sikh military to defeat Jahangir. In his leadership, Sikh Community could achieve victory.

Behdienkhlam festival:- Behdienkhlam the festival is one of the major harvest festival of Meghalaya celebrated on 8th July 2020. Every year Behdienkhlam festival celebrated especially by Jaintia Tribe of Meghalaya. 
The main festival held in Jowai, a well-known place in Jaintia Hills. With great enthusiasm, people do the celebration in order to strengthen their heritage, culture, and ethnicity. Music and traditional dances are performed at this celebration.

Splash Festival:- Splash the festival celebrated from 9th July to 11th July every year. Splash Festival is Monsoon Carnival, celebrated in Wayanad, in Kerala. This festival brings the tourist's attention to the attraction of adventure sports like rock climbing, rafting, mud football, archery, and trekking also performed. Wayanad is a beautiful hill place in Kerala. Monsoon greenery and freshness give full joyous moments to enjoy this Splash Festival.

 Nishagandhi Music Fest:- Nishagandhi Monsoon Festival celebrated in Kerala on 20th July. This festival celebrated in the Monsoon Season in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is the most spectacular music festival. For the five days, many great musicians across the country participate to make the festival magnificent. This festival conducted in the Nishagandhi Auditorium by Kerala Tourism Department.


Teej Festival
Teej Festival
Teej Festival- Teej Festival is celebrated on July 23-24, 2020 mainly in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and in many other western and the Northern States in India. This festival considers as the festival of married women, also known as monsoon festival. It is celebrated to honor the union of Lord Shiva and wife Goddess Parvati. Married women do prayers for the blessing of Paravati. On the thirds day after the new moon and thirds, day after the full moon of every month refers to “Teej”.

Women do fast all day and night and next morning freshen up and get ready in fully traditional attire, especially Sari in Red Colour, and wear traditional ornaments to worship Goddess Parvati. Arrange swings on trees and enjoy the swing, this is actually an uplifting festival for married women. Married girls receive gifts from their in-laws and from their own mothers. Gifts consist of henna, bangles, clothes, flowers, ornaments, sweets, fruits, etc.

Drukpa Teshi Festival
:- 
Drukpa Teshi Festival is celebrated on 27th July 2020. This festival is celebrated by the Buddhists in Gangtok, Sikkim. On this day Lord Buddha did the first preaching of his first sermon of four Noble Truths to his disciples at Sarnath. 

The Primary Noble Truth is Noble The truth of torment. Torment Karma’s birthplace reality is the Second Noble Truth. Nirvana Accomplishment is considered as the third Noble Truth. And finally the fourth Noble Truth is AEighth Fold Path prompting Nirvana. 

Prayers for Buddha held in Deer Park where Budha did his Noble Truth Preaching. Yak race is conducted during the Drupka Teshi Festival

KARSHA GUSTOR FESTIVAL

Karsha Gustor Festival:- Karsha Gustor Festival is celebrated on 31st July 2020. This festival is celebrated at the Kasrha monastery in Zanskar. This festival is also known as the Spitok Gutor Zanskar festival. This is a Ladakh traditional celebration. In Colorful attires, people perform the dance etc, especially monks masked dance is the main attraction, and the exchange of Hats in orange color. Black hat dance also performed. It is the day of remembering the victory of good over evil.

Bakrid/Eid-al-adha- Eid al_adha also known as Id-ul-Zuha (Bakr-Id). This a religious festival of Muslims all over the world. People engage in celebrating with special prayers and distributing greetings and gifts. All wear new clothes and engage with the celebration mood. The main meal will be meat-based. On this auspicious day they sacrifice Goat (Bakri) This sacrifice represents that Ibrahim sacrificed his son. 

“ID” the word originated from the Arabic word “iwd” , this means festival and “zuha” derived from the word “uzhaiyaa” which means “sacrifice”.



On this day all the offices and banks keep closed. And all the shops running by Islams will be closed.

Varalakshmi Puja- Varalakshmi Puja Festival is one of the most auspicious festival celebrated In Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka by married women to honor Goddess Mahalakshmi. It is celebrated in the month of Shravan before Purnima. In 2020 Varalakshmi Festival falls on 31st July.  It is believed that if the devotees could please the Goddess with their dedication, they will be blessed with whatever they pray for. It can be wealth, material comfort, and luxurious life.
