Onam / Thiruvonam Festival- Onam is celebrated in Kerala state, India. This year 2020 Onam date falls on August 31st It is considered as harvesting festival, belief that mythical demon King Mahabali coming home to visit his people.
Thiruvonam celebration reflects the culture and tradition of Kerla in its most originality and unique way. From Atham day 1 Keralites start putting Pookalam (Flower carpet) on their front side of the house (Aangan). The first day starts with one colour, day by day increases the colors and final day on Thiruvonam , pookalam will be with 10 colors of flowers. This is the day Malayalis considers as welcoming Mahabali to visit them. Traditional sadhya prepare in every home.
