Karwa Chauth- Karwa Chauth is celebrated on the fourth day after the full moon called Purnima in the month of Kartika. This year in 2020 Karwa Chauth date falls on November 4^th 2020. This is an Indian Hindu festival of married women especially celebrated in Northern India. 

Married women keep fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and long life of their husbands. This festival celebrated in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.  On this auspicious day, women wake up early in the morning and eat food before sunrise, it is called as “sargi”. 

After sunrise, they cannot eat or even drink water during the whole day until the moon rises in the evening. Daytime women celebrate by a folktale, read Karwa Chauth Vrat Katha, and involved in singing. Goddess Parwati is worshiped by the women also worship Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Kartikeya. At the end of the day, women dressed up like Bride to observe the Moon and their husbands. Breakfast by drinking water from their husbands after observing the moon.
