Vivekananda biography
Swami Vivekananda is a great figure who introduced Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world, he was a Hindu Monk. He was born on January 12 in 1863. He passed away in the year of 1902.
He was born into an Aristocratic Bengali Family in Calcutta. He was given himself completely towards spirituality. He followed his Guru Ramakrishna, from him he achieved knowledge that "All living being was an embodiment of the divine self, therefore, service to God could be provided by service to humankind".
He inspired Indians to raise the interfaith spirit and Indian Nationalism, which he used as a tool to fight against the British empire in colonial India. Swami Vivekananda and Taraknath, another disciple of Ramakrishna are the founders of the Ramakrishna Mission after Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa quit the world.
After the death of Ramakrishna, he traveled to Indian Subcontinent frequently and acquired knowledge of the triumph in British India. He then toured to the United States, attended the World Religious Parliament as an Indian representative and, conducted various public and private lectures, and spread the Hindu philosophy all over the United States, England, and Europe. Vivekananda was considered as a patriotic saint in India and his birthday celebrated as National Youth Day
His 150th birthday was celebrated all over India and in many countries too with year-long programs and events. On 23 August In 2013, a movie was released on his 150th birth anniversary as a tribute.
Nationa Youth Day-In 2020 on his 157th birth anniversary celebrated as the National Youth Day. January 12 annually celebrated as National Youth Day. the main intention is to promote the intelligent thinking of the youth, the future of the country.
