Women's Day
Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated across the world on March 8 every year to honor the achievements of women. It is a global celebration day of the social, economical, cultural, and political achievements of women. The idea of celebrating International Women's day is derived from the woman named Clara Zetkin.

Why is Women's Day on March 8th?

In 1910 at an International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen, 100 women from 17 countries were gathered and there Clara Zetkin suggested celebrating International Women's Day.

In 1914 on March 8 International Women's Day was celebrated in Germany, the most probably that day was a Sunday. The continuation of that celebration all countries started to follow Women's Day as March 8.

The theme of Women's Day 2020 was I am Generation Equality: Realizing women's rights".2021 Women's day falls on March 8 (Monday). 2020 Women's day theme color was purple.
